Biomedical Science Honours with First Class Honours
Bachelor of Science, Biomedical Science (Laboratory Medicine)
PhD Candidate

HEARING THERAPEUTICS

Melissa is currently completing a PhD in biomedical science, with the project being focused on developing a targeted delivery system for genes to the inner ear for use in patients with hearing loss.

Melissa’s postgraduate research has investigated the fields of nanotechnology and its use in the inner ear. Previous studies include an undergraduate degree focused on laboratory medicine and the world of pathology, which inspired her transition to research with an honours degree and now conducting postgraduate research as part of a PhD. She has been featured in over 25 publications and presented at international conferences.
