Together, we are helping to reconnect grandparents with their grandchildren, parents with their families and children with their schools. We help those who are used to silence, find connection again.

Our community of supporters has helped raise $24M to advance research discovery, clinical care, and innovation pipelines, accelerating impact beyond what traditional funding alone can achieve.

Locally, Ear Science has assisted many people in need, through the provision of hearing aids and cochlear implants. The research funded and conducted by Ear Science Institute Australia has the potential to help millions of people worldwide. This research is critical to discovering new treatments and to one-day cure hearing loss.

Change a Life

Change a Life is an initiative facilitated by donations to Ear Science Institute Australia and our long standing partnership with Sonova. Every year, our clinicians choose patients with compelling life stories, that require a hearing device, but cannot access one without assistance. The impact of these devices truly change the life of those that receive them.

Corey's Story

Corey Benson received an Oticon Medical Ponto 5 Mini bone conduction implant through the Ear Science Institute Australia’s ‘Change a Life’ initiative.

Corey is a 22-year-old mental health team leader who spends his days making a profound difference in the lives of those in his community.

Ray's Story

Ray Vine is an accomplished musician and music teacher, despite living with a hearing impairment.

In August 2020, Ray received a cochlear implant through Ear Science Institute Australia’s Gift of Hearing Appeal, giving him a new lease on life. He is Ray’s story.

Olivia's Story

Olivia Kilmister was born with severe hearing impairment, receiving her first cochlear implant at 12 months old.  In 2015, Olivia received her second cochlear implant, through the Gift of Hearing Appeal. We had the pleasure of catching up with Olivia, now 15-years old and thriving as a bright confident teenager, thanks to her cochlear implant.

Les, Jody & Hayden's Story

Hayden and his family’s story is a unique one given the three generations of Cochlear implants.

Their implants have given them clarity and joy of hearing once again and understanding the words their loved ones speak.

Jake's Story

Meet Jake, who has had a hearing loss for most of his life. Thanks to Ear Science Institute Australia, Sonova, and the Gift of Hearing Donors, Jake now has the gift of hearing.
