Strengthening Our Connection with Professor Sharath Sriram in MedTech Innovation

This August, we were honoured to welcome Prof. Sharath Sriram, the newly appointed Chief Scientist of Western Australia and a leading authority on the development and translation of cutting-edge medical technologies, to Ear Science Institute Australia in Perth.

Prof. Sharath Sriram is a distinguished leader in MedTech innovation, renowned for his expertise in developing and translating advanced medical devices from concept to real-world application. His focus areas which include wearable health technologies, micro-scale biomedical devices, and manufacturing for precision medicine, align closely with Ear Science Institute Australia’s mission to drive cutting-edge research and deliver transformative hearing solutions. This shared commitment promises exciting collaborative potential in developing next-generation hearing technologies and enhancing patient care.

Prof. Sriram met with our Founding Director, Professor Marcus Atlas, CEO Adjunct Associate Professor Sandra Bellekom, and research leaders for a strategic discussion on advancing hearing health innovation.

Strengthening this connection, our COO–Research Adjunct Associate Professor David Sly, also visited Prof. Sriram at his MedTech Manufacturing Facility at RMIT University in Melbourne, a hub of pioneering research and device development.

Together, we are exploring opportunities to accelerate the translation of hearing science into real-world solutions, improving lives through the power of innovation.
