The Gift of Hearing and it’s ripple effect has been bestowed upon many grateful people. This wouldn’t be possible without the generosity and commitment of our incredible donors – and the work of our talented staff members, clinicians and scientists.

For 11 years, Ear Science Institute Australia has held the Gift of Hearing Appeal. Together, we’ve raised millions of dollars for community initiatives and hearing loss research, bringing new treatments and edging us closer to discovering a cure.

The support of our donors over the past decade has facilitated countless endeavours, improving lives locally and globally;

We’ve gifted life-changing hearing devices and implants to countless deserving recipients in our community, helping to unlock a world of hearing that was previously unattainable.

We are developing the world-first ClearDrum® device, an implantable silk membrane that repairs damaged eardrums. When clinical trials are complete, ClearDrum® will change thousands of lives around the globe for people living with eardrum perforations.

We’ve been one of the first groups in the world to grow an inner ear organoid, a cochlear, in our lab, which could revolutionise treatments for currently incurable conditions such as Usher syndrome.

We’re developing new diagnostic tests for early detection of dementia, and discovering ways to reduce the risk of dementia later in life.

We visit remote Indigenous communities in the Pilbara and provide much-needed hearing health care for children.

We also recondition donated hearing aids for Western Australians in need and for children in countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

It’s because of you, our Gift of Hearing Appeal family, that we can continue to conduct world-class ear and hearing research, community initiatives and clinical services.

Donate today and you’ll enable us to continue this vital work.

Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
