Adjunct Associate Professor Elaine Wong, Head of Hearing Therapeutics at Ear Science Institute Australia, recently attended An Evening with Prof Sharath Sriram, organised by WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub.
Held at The Platform Perth on 26th August, the event provided those in attendance with a unique opportunity to listen in on key insights from Professor Sriram, Western Australia’s Chief Scientist.
Known for his clear vision regarding the importance of creating and delivering breakthrough technology that will improve individuals and communities, Professor Sriram is fundamental in providing independent and expert advice to the Western Australian Government with a focus on the future of science and technology in the State.
A distinguished science and research leader in engineering, Professor Sriram is renowned for his work in the fields of nanoelectronics, sensors, and medical technologies, with a particular focus on translating advanced technology for healthcare applications.
Professor Sriram has led and coordinated a $60 million multi-user, interdisciplinary research facility and has led medical device prototyping and scale-up manufacturing initiatives, driving innovation and practical implementation in the medical technology sector. His role of Western Australia’s Chief Scientist involves his expertise across government policy, innovation and public engagement.
During An Evening with Prof Sharath Sriram, guests heard his ambitions for the next three years and his vision for science and technology in Western Australia. The event was hosted by Stakeholder Engagement Director Dr Tracey Wilkinson.
