For many clients, private health insurance offers the advantage of CHOICE – the choice of an ENT surgeon and the choice of surgery date to avoid surgery wait lists.
For most health insurance funds, you will need Silver, Silver Plus or Gold level Hospital cover for a hearing implant.
What if I don’t have private health insurance?
You can choose to take out private health insurance or upgrade your level of cover, with a 12-month waiting period prior to surgery, or you can proceed through the public system.
Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) patients
If you are a veteran with a DVA Gold card or White (Hearing) card, you can access hearing implant services with no out of pocket expenses. This includes your hearing implant assessment, surgery, and acute and long term care.
