ESIA Director Winthrop Professor Marcus Atlas wins ‘Dr Harry Blackmore Award’Breaking News Thursday 25th August 2011Professor Marcus Atlas, Director of ESIA was awarded the ‘Dr Harry Blackmore Award’ for 2011 by the Deafness Council of WA. This was presented to Prof. Atlas on Wednesday by Mr Tony Simpson MLA and Mr Barry MacKinnon AM at the Chevron Hearing Awareness Week exhibition in the QV1 Building. |

Breaking News 22nd August 2011August 2011 Awards to Mr George Jones ESIA Trustee and Fundraising Committee Chairman.Mr Jones received one of highest honours the Mining Industry can bestow when he was awarded the Diggers & Dealers GJ Stokes Memorial Award in Kalgoorlie this month. The award was established to recognise individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the resources industry over their career. Mr Jones was commended on his work over the course of his long career, his leadership and his enviable record in the mining industry. The 11th Australian Institute of Company Directors’ 2011 WA Gold Medal was yet another acknowledgement awarded to Mr Jones in recognition of his achievements as a Director promoting the highest standards. Congratulations go to Mr George Jones from the whole ESIA Team. |

Winthrop Professor Marcus Atlas wins prestigious Australian Medical Association (WA) Award
Western Australia’s contribution to ear, nose and throat medicine has been recognised by the AMA(WA) at its annual Awards Night and Charity Gala Dinner. The Ear Science Institute Australia (ESIA) - an independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving ear and hearing outcomes - took out two major awards on the night.

Cheers for Ears program wins Healthier WA Award for work in children’s ear health
The ESIA was acknowledged at the recent AMA (WA) annual Awards Night and Charity Gala Dinner for its community contribution through its Cheers for Ears Program, which received the AMA (WA)/Healthway Healthier WA Award for its ongoing commitment to the Ear health of school aged children.
