Honours

Ear Science Institute Australia  (ESIA) currently has an opportunity for any who wish to complete an Honours Degree. The research at ESIA is currently focussed in the areas of cell culture and regeneration in addition to molecular biology. The project on offer is associated with genetic changes that occur during cellular apoptosis, which the primary cause of auditory hair cell death in noise-induced deafness.

The Project

The student will be examining the role of ß-actin in early apoptosis and will involve using a range of cell culture, and molecular biological techniques. Therefore, the student will be expected to possess some background or interest in these areas of research. Successful completion of this project will provide you with a solid research background and skill set considered necessary for future employment.
