Mr Peter Abery brings to the ESIA board a vast array of experience in senior management roles at companies including Vodafone, Telstra, HPM Industries and Crown Castle UK. and Australia. A graduate of Harvard Business School’s International Senior Managers Program, he joined the ESIA board in 2008 after previously working with Professor Marcus Atlas on the Institute’s development.

Peter Abery has experience in senior management roles including chief executive officer and managing director of such companies as HPM Industries, Crown Castle UK and Australia, Vodafone Network and QPSX Communications. Current listed company Directorships include, Norfolk Group Limited, Nomad Building Solutions Limited and pieNETWORKS Limited.
Mr Abery holds a Bachelor and a Masters degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering), as well as a Masters of Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s International Senior Managers Program.
He joined the board of Ear Science Institute of Australia in 2008 after working with Professor Marcus Atlas on the development of the organisation.
He believes that the prevalence of loss of hearing makes the work of ESIA in research, diagnostics and care particularly important and sees it as having a significant contribution to society.
Mr Abery believes that as the institute grows, its research activities expand and the new building develops, it is becoming a more significant not-for-profit organisation. He hopes to bring his business skills and experience to assist the board, the Director, the management team and staff to achieve the goals set for the future of ESIA.
